Padstow is a small town in Cornwall, England. It was described by Richard Cobbett as “a place of some antiquity”. The name Padstow is thought to derive from the Celtic word “pedn” meaning a hillock or tumulus and “treow” meaning tree, which may refer to the three trees on St Piran’s flag.
